  2. A根据本段第二句的On his deathbed。

  3. D根据本段第二句的if they were to dig in a certain field.

  5. A本句“Realizing that being 5 ,their father must have given his gold away during his lifetime, they 6 their search.” 选项A. generous意为“大方的”,从本句的“giveaway”捐赠,和文章第一段首句的“a hard-working and generous farmer”也可以推断出选A。

  6. C根据本句“Realizing that being 5 , their father must have given his gold away during his life time,”意识到把金子捐赠了,便放弃寻找,是因果的逻辑关系。

  7. B本句中it occurred to sb“某人突然想起……”。Might as well意为“不妨”。根据第一段的“they dug up from one end to another,”可知田地已经被挖松了,也就是准备好了可以进行播种庄稼。

故选C. same。

  11. B根据上一句的they again dug up the fields和本句中的something which they had not understood before,可知他们不断地挖掘田地,已经习惯了这种劳动,并且这种劳动是以前他们不能理解的东西,故选B. labor“劳动”。学生容易选干扰项C. search意为“搜寻”,跟本句后面部分的something which they had not understood before.

  15. B本句中的get in意为“收获”。

  1. A 根据近义词复现,由上文dressed fashionably in a colorful suit可知,我认为老师不应该穿得这么引人注目。

  15. D根据因果逻辑,下文提到了allowed me to fly to greater heights,所以这里是指Miss Biden对我受伤的翅膀进行了修复。

  2. C 根据语境(情况、背景、场所)同现,前文提到了parents today have no grasp of “tough love”,下文也有提示,因此这里是说父母对孩子的行为没有任何约束。

  4. A 根据原词复现,being a friend对应后面的laissez-faire attitude, 而另外一种态度to be authoritarian则对应的是being a parent, 即“以权威的父母的身份来约束孩子”。

  13. A 根据后文the elderly still had stand可知,这位母亲劝说行为最终也只是放任孩子。

  15. D 根据上文的some boys break a window of their neighbor’s house可知,此处应选destroy,表示“损坏”她的财物。

  18. without 此句是对“believe in yourself”的反面论证。

  21. In 固定词组in this way,意为“用这种方法”。

  22. made/ being made 此句谓语是have, 所给动词make为非谓语动词(作宾补)。由于a sense of progress和make之间有逻辑上的被动关系,可知应为have sth done或是have sth being done(侧重sth正在被做)。

  23. that 此句为“It’s ...that...”

  24. how 此句remind后接宾语从句,故how badly you love your dreams (你多么热爱你的梦想)。语序是how +adj./adv.

  25. it固定搭配:make it(达到目的,获得成功)。

  16. when 考查句式“be about to ...when...”

  17. to hide

  19. because /as /for 空格前后两个分句有因果关系。

  22. traveler

  23. were 此处as if 引导的从句用虚拟语气,be动词用were。

  24. What 此句是“It’s ....that....”

  16. her 指代前句的little girl,作宾语。

  18. For 固定搭配for a long time 意为“很长时间”。

A musical entitled Mamma Mia directed by Phyllida Lloyd was first put on the stage in London in 1999. It tells how a younger, Sophie, looks for her biological father before her wedding. Ever since its appearance, it has been adapted into thirteen versions of different languages, making numerous nameless opera singers popular. The Chinese version of the musical, its fourteenth version, presented its first public performance in Shanghai in July, 2011, but surprisingly some professionals in music argue that bringing in western musicals may threaten the existing of our native ones. However, a recent report says that it will be on its second national tour in the first half of next year.

Yue Yue was ignored and left to die by 18 passers-by after she had been run over by two vans in Foshan, but eventually she was helped by a rubbish collector. Her death caused much discussion.

I think that the collector is so great and full of love. She is a real hero in our society today. It is her behavior that arouses us. She has set a good example for everyone living in the world. What a kind and selfless woman she is!

If I had been there, I would have tried my best to help Yue Yue and sent her to the nearest hospital as soon as possible.

When the public is condemning the driver and those different 18 passers-by, I’m thinking about where her parents were when the accident happened and why she was there. As a two-year-old girl’s parents, they failed to perform the duties of protecting her and I hope the incidents like this won’t happen again around us.
